SONG OF A GIRL

In her upcoming album “Song Of A Girl” (2026, XJAZZ! Music) jazz singer Anna Margolina turns poetry into music. She has rediscovered lyricist Anna Margolin (1887-1952) with whom she not only shares her name, but also the country of origin. The result embodies a broad, melodic and contemporary view on jazz, embracing elements of folk, soul and electronic, presented with a strong collective of well-known and versatile musicians: Arseny Rykov - piano, Paul Kleber - double bass, vocals, production & composition, Martin Krümmling - drums & vocals. ONE ENDLESS NIGHT

The debut album “One Endless Night” (2023, XJAZZ! Music) by jazz singer Anna Margolina is a personal remembrance of her immigration from Minsk to Berlin. After 30 years since her arrival, the record shares experiences of abandonment and loneliness, the search for new identity and a sense of belonging. More than ever, there is now need for a hopeful story. One song stands out: "Cold Waters" portrays the experience of being a lone island amidst dark, cold waters. The Music Video was created by a brilliant and devoted team around Idle Films studio, starring dancer Sarah Nevada Grether.

PRESS REVIEWS

— Angela Ballhorn, Jazzthetik

“One Endless Night” presents a balanced, primarily positive exploration of Margolina’s immigration experience. Its thematic strength, combined with Margolina’s compelling vocal performance and the accompanying musicians’ skilled improvisation, make it an album worth experiencing.” — the jazz world

— jazz fun
